About the system

BT Index Trading is a systematic, long-only strategy for major US stock indices, developed by Molle de Jong (Beurstrade). The system combines trend following and mean reversion to track movements in the S&P 500, Nasdaq and Dow Jones through micro futures.

Positions are opened and managed entirely systematically, based on predefined rules, without discretionary intervention. This results in a consistent, repeatable approach that does not rely on market sentiment or predictions.

Description

BT Index Trading is a systematic, long-only strategy on major US stock indices, developed by Molle de Jong under the name Beurstrade. The strategy combines trend following and mean reversion to take positions in micro futures on the S&P 500, Nasdaq and Dow Jones.

The portfolio is managed entirely systematically: positions are opened and closed based on predefined rules, without discretionary intervention. This makes the strategy consistent and repeatable, independent of market sentiment or predictions.

How does the strategy work?
BT Index Trading combines two complementary techniques. Trend following captures longer-lasting movements in the major US indices, while mean reversion targets temporary deviations that tend to move back toward the average. By operating long-only on micro futures, the strategy remains clear and accessible, with controlled capital exposure per position.

Market volatility and outlook
US indices can move sharply on macroeconomic data, interest rate decisions and geopolitical developments. The systematic nature of BT Index Trading ensures that positions are consistently adjusted according to the strategy's rules, regardless of short-term market sentiment.

Why choose BT Index Trading?

  • systematic, rules-based approach with no discretionary intervention;
  • combination of trend following and mean reversion;
  • long-only positioning in micro futures on the S&P 500, Nasdaq and Dow Jones;
  • clear, controlled capital exposure per position;
  • developed by Molle de Jong, active as a trader since 2010;
